This project was awarded to Arrowhead in September 2004 with the actual
fieldwork beginning in the 2005 construction season. Cape Romanzof is located
approximately 500 miles Northwest of Anchorage and requires transportation
by flight.
The main focus of this project was to renovate the interior space of the
second level of the Multiple Array Radar (MAR) Tower. In doing that we
encountered asbestos containing material (ACM), sheetrock mud, flooring,
flooring mastic and spray on fireproofing, which in turn had to be abated
prior to other activities.
Additional scope of work included repairing the exterior catwalk around
the exterior of the tower. This entailed adding thermal break to each connection
to the building of the catwalk.
